Additional Information
The top 10 finishers in their races at the County Championships will be selected to run at the following ‘National Primary Schools/Year 7 Championships’ … NOT the ESAA Cross Country Championships which you see is for Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors. We have entered this event for the past 6 years.
Competition:
National Primary / Year 7 Schools Championships.
Date:
Saturday March 22nd , Stoneleigh Park Estate, Kenilworth CV8 2LH.
Runners for this event can be entered by the family as an individual, particularly if the runner has been involved at Primary School level before and receives ‘promotional’ information about the event. WSAA will inform runners/parents of the selected ‘Warwickshire’ Team immediately after our Championships at Princethorpe on January 18th so please do not enter as an individual if your son/daughter finishes in the top 10 on the day!
Any runner finishing outside of the top 10 may enter as an individual if he/she and family wish to participate in the National Event although I would remind everyone that as a ‘National’ event the standards are quite high so an individual entry must be carefully considered! Please feel free to contact WSAA for advice regarding making an individual entry if you are uncertain of required standards of performance. Regular club runners will be more aware of the levels required!
New this year:
The Organiser has advertised a CROSS COUNTRY RELAY races for years 8 and 9 (Juniors). Entering this may well be considered by the WSAA Committee so more information will be posted later. The week before Years 8/9 will representing WSAA at the ESAA Cross Country Championships.
There will be an entry fee for this event.
Entry is primarily via schools, please speak to your PE department if you wish to compete. Schools will be notified of details and how to enter nearer the time.
It is an individual entry, and we do allow late entry on the day. You must attend a Warwickshire School/College to be able to register and compete.
