MASON TROPHY INTER COUNTY
About The Mason Trophy Inter County Track & Field Event
This is an Inter county competition between 10 counties; Warwickshire, West Midlands, Hereford & Worcestershire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire and Derbyshire. Held annually on a Saturday in Mid-June. Staffordshire is the organising county.
We are extremely proud to report that Warwickshire have won this prestigious Trophy for the past two years, particularly as we are one of the smallest counties! This a direct result of us fielding FULL teams of so many talented young athletes coming through the age groups in the past few years.

Selection for the county team will follow the County Championships on the 14th June. Y8-11 only. 2 athletes per event. The committee will review the 1st and 2nd placed athletes but will also consider if a county standard as been achieved and if the performance is of a high enough level to compete at the trophy meeting. County level athletes who have missed the county championships for a justifiable reason will also be considered in the selection. Schools will be notified of selected athletes.

Additional Information
Warwickshire Teams are selected based on the results of the Warwickshire County championships. 2 athletes can be entered per county per event. Athletes may be selected to compete in up to 2 events, plus relay. We always take full teams to cover all field/track events, a total of 80-90 athletes will be given the opportunity to compete at this great event.
Selected athletes are notified directly and via schools by Tues 17th June.
